SOYA BEAN (GLYCINE SOJA) OIL
Glycine soja (soyabean) oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the soybean (Glycine max). Source of nutrients: Glycine soja (soy) contains significant amounts of all the essential amino acids and is a good source of protein. It is derived from soybean amino acids and is rich in protein, minerals and vitamins, especially vitamin E.
Food: Soybean oil is mostly used for frying and baking. It is also used as a condiment for salads.
Drying oil: Soybean oil is one of many drying oils, which means that it will slowly harden (due to free-radical based polymerization) upon exposure to air, forming a flexible, transparent, and waterproof solid. Because of this property, it is used in some printing ink and oil paint formulations. However, other oils (such as linseed oil) may be superior for some drying oil applications.
Fixative for insect repellents: While soybean oil has no direct insect repellent activity, it is used as a fixative to extend the short duration of action of essential oils such as geranium oil in several commercial products. Some people apply soybean oil directly to the skin to repel mosquitoes and other insects.
Intravenous feedings: Soybean oil is also used as a nutritional supplement in intravenous feedings.
Cholesterol level: Soybean oil works to lower cholesterol levels by decreasing cholesterol absorption in the gut. Specific processed parts of soybean oil called saponifiables may have a beneficial effect on joints.
Skin care: Glycine Soja Oil also contains antioxidants such as Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C. Both of these antioxidants are famous for preventing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and helping the skin to restore its long lost radiance. Apart from giving you healthier looking skin, Glycine Soja Oil can also work wonders in terms of improving the appearance of your skin texture. This ensures that your skin looks brighter and glows like before.
Hair wonders: Glycine Soja Oil contains great quantities of ingredients such as Sterolins and lenulic acids. Both of these ingredients are known to work wonders for the hair, the glands and the skin.
Prevention of cancer: Soybeans contain the iso flavones and types of phyto estrogen which are considered by some to be useful in the prevention of cancer and by others to be carcinogenic and endocrine disruptive.
